It has anti-bacterial, anti-diarrhoeal, broncho-dialator, emmenagogue, anti-arthritic, anti-fertility, laxative, ecbolic, anthelmintic, aphrodisiac, antiviral, anti-plasmodic, anti-hypertensieve, anti-coagulant, diuretic and anti-tumpour properties. It is also used in the treatment of fistula, cough, asthma, fever, piles, scrofula, chronic malaria, impotence, and snake bites.
It is useful as an expectorant in cough. It relieves asthma and other respiratory diseases by clearing the airways and enhancing the movements of respiratory tract. It has anti-diabetic effect as it helps reduce high blood sugar levels in blood. It helps to calm the mind and improves sleep quality.
It is unctuous and hot in potency with pungent taste but becomes sweet after digestion. It is an aphrodisiac and balances Vata and Kapha. It improves ability to taste and promotes digestion. Relieves cough cold and other respiratory problems. It is not a laxative, rather causes constipation.

Sesame is a drug as well as a dietary supplement. When taken in moderate quantities, sesame helps prevent greying of hair, wrinkled skin, memory shortage, and other signs of ageing. Abundant in minerals and vitamins, it is helpful in bone health as it can prevent osteoporosis, and promote bone growth. It can regularise blood pressure and lower cholesterol levels in blood. It can be used in gastric problems like food poisoning and intestinal worms, when taken in small quantity but a large quantity may cause diarrhoea. It helps in improving quality and quantity of breast milk. It is hepato-protective and anti-cancerous.
The seeds of this plant are used in the form of powder to treat worms. It acts as an appetiser, carminative and aids digestion. It is also beneficial in treatment of colic. AS ANUPANA/PRAKSHEPADRAVYA-TO BE TAKEN MIXED WITH THE KASHAYA Hingu/ Kana /Saindhava/ Kshaara Details of the manufacturing Vizhalveradi kashayam has 13 ingredients in equal quantity. All these ingredients should be washed well and dried up in shade. Take all the ingredients in crushed form in an earthen pot. For your special attention, Sunthi should be crushed and tied up separately in a white clean cotton cloth as a Potali. This is to prevent the excess dissolution of the contents and to maintain the exact consistency of the kashayam. Now add 16 times clean water into it. Make it boil and then cook in the open vessel with low fire. Reduce the quantity into one by eighth of the initial quantity. Make sure to mix it in between with a ladle without breaking the potli. Also, the fire should be kept low to make sure that all the active ingredients in the herbs needed are absorbed well into the water. Once the quantity is reduced to one by eighth of the initial amount of water, remove the vessel from the fire. Squeeze and drain through a clean white cloth. Collect the decoction in a clean vessel and discard the solid waste. Drink the mild warm decoction. Dosha Dooshya Predominance with roga margas. Vizhalveradi kashayam is Kapha-Vaatahara and anulomana. It acts on abhyantara rogamarga. Dosage and Usage Vizhalveradi kashayam Dosage: two Pala. Usage: Kashayam is advised to take in empty stomach, once the ingested food is digested well and aahaararasa is formed well. Usage of kashayam with prescribed prakshepadravyas according to the condition of disease and the patient gives the best results mostly.
Exercises and Yoga. Vizhalveradi kashayam targets mainly colic pain and indigestion. Exercises are not allowed in painful conditions of abdomen. Only stretching, moderate walking, and mild cardio exercises are advised during severe indigestion. Also, specific yogacharya including bhujangaasana, pavanamuktasana, vajrasana which helps Vaatanulomyam is recommended. Range of movement and flexibility must be considered while doing every exercise. Sookshma sandhi vyayama (warming up small joints) is advised. Regular exercise helps improve bioavailability of the medicine and food ingested and leads to positive health. Yoga can maintain harmony within the body and with the surrounding system. Pavanamukthasana Vajrasana Bhujangasana All the exercises and physical exertions must be decided and done under the supervision of a medical expert only. Recommended diet and behaviour Diet:

Leaf juice is used in amenorrhea, catarrhal infections and dysmenorrhea, infantile diarrhoea and also used to reduce body pain. Dried leaves are used as an antirheumatic and used in asthma, amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, bronchitis, whooping cough, heals cuts and wounds and finally to facilitate parturition. The stem bark of this plant is a good remedy for cold, it is also used to treat malaria and the twig is used as an antipyretic and appetizer. Dried roots are used as an abortifacient, emetic, bronchitis and used for cough, asthma and constipation, while the fresh roots used as an abortifacient and used to treat gonorrhoea.
It is a coolant and appetiser at the same time. It increases intestinal motility. It arrests bleeding. Being a rich source of anti-oxidants, it can be used in the treatment of gastric ulcer, dysentery & diarrhoea, bleeding disorders etc.

Details of the manufacturing
As already discussed, VIRATARADI KASHAYAMis prepared using 20 ingredients in equal quantity. All these ingredients should be washed well and dried up in shade. Take the prescribed herbs in dried & crushed form in an earthen pot. Now add 16 times clean water into it. Make it boil and then cook in the open vessel with low fire. Reduce the quantity into one by eighth of the initial quantity. Make sure to mix it in between with a ladle. Also, the fire should be kept low to make sure that all the active ingredients in the herbs needed are absorbed well into the water. Once the quantity is reduced to one by eighth of the initial amount of water, remove the vessel from the fire. Squeeze and drain through a clean white cloth. Collect the decoction in a clean vessel and discard the solid waste. Drink the mild warm decoction.

Dosage and Usage of Veerataradi kashayam Dosage: two Pala. Usage: Kashayam is advised to take in empty stomach, once the ingested food is digested well and aahaararasa is formed well. Usage of kashayam with prescribed prakshepadravyas according to the condition of disease and the patient gives the best results mostly.
Exercises and Yoga. As VIRATARADI KASHAYAM targets mainly urinary tract disorders, only mild exercises are advised. Also, specific yogacharya including nadisuddhi pranayama, is recommended. In persons with fever and severe urinary tract infections, physical exercises are not recommended. Regular exercise after regaining normal health helps improve bioavailability of the food ingested and leads to positive health. Yoga can maintain harmony within the body and with the surrounding system.

As already discussed, Vastyamayantakaghrutha has 51 herbal ingredients, silajatu, cow’s milk, rock salt and cow’s ghee. Herbs for swarasa should be taken fresh, washed well, crushed and squeezed through a cloth/sieve to get clean filtered swarasa. Add the prescribed Kashaya, mik, swarasa of the prescribed herbs into it and again boil. Mix well and make sure to keep the fire low. Make it boil and cook in a low and steady fire. Add the kalka dravya (herbal paste) slowly, mixing well. Make it boil and then cook keeping the open vessel with low fire. Reduce the quantity into the quantity of ghrutha. Make sure to mix it in between with a ladle. Also, the fire should be kept low to make sure that all the active ingredients in the herbs needed are absorbed well into the ghee. Continue cooking and stir in between. Check the Paaka as per Snehapakavidhi. Once the desired Paaka is attained, filter the ghruta. Mix well and keep it in air tight glass bottles after cooling completely. Ghrutha can be used for a longer period of time without any preservatives.

All the 16 herbs explained earlier Take the prescribed herbs for decoction in dried & crushed form in an earthen pot. Now add 4 times clean water into it. Make it boil and then cook in the open vessel with low fire. Reduce the quantity into one by fourth of the initial quantity. Make sure to mix it in between with a ladle. Also, the fire should be kept low to make sure that all the active ingredients in the herbs needed are absorbed well into the water. Once the quantity is reduced to one by fourth of the initial amount of water, remove the vessel from the fire. Squeeze and drain through a clean white cloth. Collect the decoction in a clean vessel and discard the solid waste. To this decoction, add the Kalka (paste form of drugs) and continue cooking it in low fire. To this, add cow’s ghee and continue cooking. Stir in between. Check the Paaka as per Snehapakavidhi. Once the desired Paaka is attained, filter the ghruta and keep it in air tight glass bottles after cooling. Ghrutha can be used for a longer period of time without any preservatives. Make it boil and then cook in the open vessel with low fire. Reduce the quantity into one by eighth of the initial quantity. Make sure to mix it in between with a wooden ladle. Also, the fire should be kept low to make sure that all the active ingredients in the herbs needed are absorbed well into the water. Once the quantity is reduced to one by eighth of the initial amount of water, remove the vessel from the fire. Squeeze and drain through a clean white cloth. Collect the decoction in a clean vessel and discard the solid waste. Drink the cooled decoction adding HONEY to it.

Make it boil and then cook in the open vessel with low fire. Reduce the quantity into one by eighth of the initial quantity. Make sure to mix it in between with a ladle. Also, the fire should be kept low to make sure that all the active ingredients in the herbs needed are absorbed well into the water. Once the quantity is reduced to one by eighth of the initial amount of water, remove the vessel from the fire. Squeeze and drain through a clean white cloth. Collect the decoction in a clean vessel and discard the solid waste. Drink the mild warm decoction.
Dosha Dooshya Predominance with roga margas. Vairyadi kashayam is Kapha-Pittahara. It acts on aabhyantara rogamarga.
Dosage and Usage of Vairyadi kashayam Dosage: two Pala. Usage: Kashayam is advised to take in empty stomach, once the ingested food is digested well and aahaararasa is formed well. Usage of kashayam with prescribed prakshepadravyas according to the condition of disease and the patient gives the best results mostly.
Exercises and Yoga.
As Vairyadi kashayam targets mainly urinary tract organs, only mild exercises are advised. In persons with fever and urinary tract infections, physical exercises are not recommended. But in diabetic persons, regular exercises and physical activities are advised. Also, specific yogacharya including nadisuddhi pranayama, pavanamuktasana, vajrasana, bhujangaasana etc is recommended. Regular exercise after regaining normal health helps improve bioavailability of the food ingested and leads to positive health. By regulating peristalsis and digestion, diarrhoea is cured. People are affected more with indigestion due to poor lifestyles and unhealthy food habits nowadays. Food poisoning is very common, where the main symptom is uncontrolled diarrhoea. In severe diarrhoea, the watery stools can be mixed with mucus, pus or even blood. It is an aphrodisiac and balances Vata and Kapha. It improves the ability to taste and promotes digestion. Relieves cough cold and other respiratory problems. It is not a laxative, rather causes constipation.
This plant extracts and its bioactive compounds have been known to possess antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antitumor, radioprotective, chemoprotective, antimetastatic, antiangiogenetic, wound-healing, immunomodulation, anti-diabetic, and cardioprotective activity.

Make sure to mix it in between with a ladle without breaking the potli. Also, the fire should be kept low to make sure that all the active ingredients in the herbs needed are absorbed well into the water. Usage of kashayam with prescribed prakshepadravyas according to the condition of disease and the patient gives the best results mostly.
Exercises and Yoga. As Shunti samangadi kashayam targets mainly the digestive system and abdomen, regular stretching, relaxation techniques, and mild cardio exercises are advised. Also, specific Yogacharya including naadisuddhi pranayama, bhujangaasana, vajrasana etc is recommended.
